A whole week of festivities awaits you every day in a different village!
2024 marks the 50th anniversary of the creation of the Sainte-Croix dam and lake.
Situated on the border of two departments, this turquoise pearl surrounded by lush green landscapes and is the symbol of the Southern Region, bordered by six communes: Aiguines, Baudinard-sur-Verdon, Bauduen, Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, Sainte-Croix-du-Verdon and Les Salles-sur-Verdon.
To celebrate in joy this anniversary, a week of festivities is organized from September 13th to 21st, 2024. Activities and exceptional shows will be offered to locals and visitors through days of activities in the villages, based on the associative fabric and local heritage.
Worth noting, the Patrouille de France will open the festivities with a flight over the Sainte-Croix on the morning of Friday, September 13th.
Every night during the week a pyrotechnic show is given.*
Opening of the week of festivities with the Patrouille de France passing over the lake, pétanque competition, kayak orienteering course, astronomical observatory open house, various exhibitions, screening of the film “Verdon, coveted source of life” with the Verdon Regional Natural Park in association with EDF and the Provence Canal Company, followed by a conference, the Terra Viva Verdon association will be on hand to raise awareness of the need to pick up cigarette butts, horse-drawn carriage rides, guided tour of the village, church open house, fireworks on the lake, concert.

Garage sale, visits of the village, model room of the old village open all day at the tourist information centre, wooden games and inflatable structures, exhibition by Electricity of France (EDF) about the Verdon dams, official opening of the wash-house of the old village with aperitif offered to all at lunchtime, pétanque competition, kayak-polo, screenings of “The birth of the lake“, fireworks, concert.

Water conference by a guide, conference at the Museum of Faience, exhibition of pieces of ceramics made for the 50th anniversary of the lake, demonstration of decoration on ceramics, leisure base: open-doors to the public with boats in free access (paddle, canoe, kayak, pedal boats), family activities, snack bar and small restaurant on site, free activities of discovery of fishing discovery - open to all starting from 8 years old, pyrotechnic show with music and fireworks in the center of the village.

Exhibition by Electricity of France (EDF) “lake and dam”, museum of woodturning: free admission, woodturning demonstration in the heart of the village, creative workshops "Around wood" at the museum, guided e-bike outing – upon registration – https://urls.fr/W0tXPm, pétanque competition, pedal boats race – Galetas beach – upon registration by SMS on +33 6 07 28 13 21, subject to weather conditions, aperitif at 12 p.m. for all with live music, pyrotechnic show in the village.

Free observation of the sun with telescope with Astro Verdon, various exhibitions, animations "discovery of the actions of the forest fire committee of Baudinard", Presence of the “Waste management” service of the Community of Communes Lacs et Gorges du Verdon in a truck, pétanque competition, discovery of the chapels and the church, street parade across the village, puppet show, closing ceremony with fire show, open-air cinema and meal, screening of “La Dame du Lac".
